I Need More Affection Than You Know
"You can try Salix Forest!" they had said. Story of his life! The violet haired boy had journeyed into the depth of the woods to find berries, but instead he found...other things. It was perhaps his own fault, but would be too proud to admit it. His nose was in the air, snort and blowing out the haze that swept around his body as he explored the woods. Feet would be unseen, but certain that the wooden sandals would be pressing on moistness and something that reminded him what it felt like to stand on wet paper...or mud? Both were equally unpleasant and lost beneath the thicket of fog that that curling around his ankles.
"This region is so strange!" His lips pressing to one another, daring not to speak what possible was under his geta. "There are no woods like this Kanto! Even this mist is...sort of...ugh!" His mouth opened wide as he breathed the strange miasma. Curiosity aroused him, causing him to question if this atmosphere was even healthy to begin with. They had called this forest "Mystical" or something along the lines that made him think that they were either onto something concerning a rare phenomenon caused by the Pokemon World and all its mysteries, or simply skeptics who wanted to believe in that rubbish such as "faith" and "Superstition."
Things not meant for big blue scientific eyes.
The woods were a haze that could be comparable only to one who was still fairly sheepish after a rest. The trees off color by soft shades of mesmeric white that shifted. The vapor in the air looked something like a dream! A wondrous, mysterious forest of fantasy. You know? Those things the young Orchid did not believe in.
Still, he would journey on, walking within the woods as he had clutched a Pokeball in hand. The shell empty as the Pokemon that had been inside was...well...somewhere. The boy's eyes searched for any hint of the small creature. It was only when he seen the curled fuzzy brown ear with patch of creamy pink that he would blow out the mist that he inhaled. "How can you stand this?" The small creature reeled its head above the thick mist as it heard the trainer, "Do Pokemon actually live here?"
The beady eyes of the rabbit-Pokemon would look empty. Then a brow drop in utter disappointment at how the self-proclaimed "scholar" knew so little. As if to prove him wrong, the small rabbit Pokemon bounced up to eye level, shooting a sharp gaze before landing upon the terrain. It had fallen upon all fours as it darted into the mist leaving a slightly clear path in its wake for the boy to walk.
"H-hey! Bun!" He stopped. For the life of him, he did not know the species's name, so he had to call it something cutesy, "BunBun-chan! Get back here!"
Helpless to pursue, he stamped running after the Pokemon as he went deeper into the woods. Unbeknownst him, he was getting an answer to his question.

I Need More Affection Than You Know
As if a thousand mouths went, “Awww” at the same time, the violet haired boy would stop in place as he would see Buneary standing amidst the misty trail. The bunny was standing perfectly still, gazing at the sight of what was half an egg shell. Upon giving a long and good gaze, Orchid would finally register just what he was looking at. The familiar sight causing for him to lift a brow. “Oh!” Famous line as his breath would sweep in a gasp. “A Togepi? They live here as well?”
The Pokemon was a rarity in the Kanto region. He knew they were much more frequent in the Johto Region, but even then, they were still not quite as common. With a simple step, the young boy would cast the head of his shadow over the creature. Its smiling face? It was something to be adored as it moved its little hands and given a helpless reach to the violet haired boy.
“I guess the Pokemon here are like any other.” The violet haired boy given a weak smile to the Pokemon before tilting its head to the bunny. With a head tilt, the Buneary had seemed to be...hesitant. “We should leave it alone.” Orchid would tilt his head back to the path around the risen tree that was behind the egg-like Pokemon. “Let’s go, Bun-chan!”
With a turn of his head, Orchid would head around the path, cutting past the tree and the Togepi. Big blue eyes had gazed off into the woods that were still hiding beyond walls of the mist that gradually gave away to his gentle reach. Only when he would finally clear past the tree-
THUNK!!! A crash? Some screams? Some cries?
Orchid had turned around to see the mist agitated and disturbed. It was so much so that the grass would actually show in a bit beneath the misty terrain. On top of the grass, the mist would par as if giving the stage for the sight. “Bun-chan!” The boy called out to the rabbit mounting and wrestling with the egg Pokemon. “What are you doing?!” The Pokemon was too busy to respond as it was pinning the Togepi who was at the bottom of the fight. It was such a pitiful sight that Orchid had to sprint towards them both and snatch up the rabbit.
“Are you serious?” The Bunny Pokemon was still kicking out its feet relentlessly.
Orchid was not surprised, rolling his eyes as a memory came back to him catching the Pokemon. It was the first one he encountered and caught upon arriving in the region and, as some would say, it had “No chill.” The rabbit Pokemon was fighting other different species in the woods. The wild Pokemon around would be filled with grief and shooting looks towards Orchid upon his arrival that screamed, “This one NEEDS to be captured.” He might as well have been doing the local wilds a favor.
“You can’t start a fight with everyone you see!” He said holding the rabbit as he looked to its squirming body. “At this rate, you might as well-"
THUD!!! Orchid found himself on his back before he even knew it. His chest was stomped by the leap of the brown bunny Pokemon that quickly hurried off his body while another would quickly roll off him and unto the ground following Buneary. “What on Ear-?!” The boy stopped as he tried to take in the hectic environment. As he rolled on his chest, he would get a glimpse of the sight unfolding. He thought himself dreaming until he remembered the mist being a part of the scenery.
A...very strange scenery.
“Are you serious?!”
The Togepi was angry, but not the kind of anger and rage for revenge. It was a smug smirk on its face. If anyone seen it, one would have called it cocky. With a wave of its little hands, the mist had cascaded off the rocks that had risen from the ground and floated within the air. Each one of them hovering in place as the bobbed before the Buneary who was standing on its two feet and weary of the Pokemon’s threat towards it.
“I get it now,” Orchid let out a sigh as he slowly stood up, “The Togepi started the fight.”
BunBun-chan was a challenger, not so much of an initiator. No matter what, Orchid could remember that the rabbit Pokemon would beat its chest and point its little paw calling someone out and they would answer. If they ignored it, it still would taunt, but it was not one to chase a fight to prove something. This Togepi, on the other hand, was different. It was flaunting its strength and being aggressive to anyone that came across its path and rejected it. But then again, wild Pokemon are naturally jealous like that.
“We cannot let it keep the advantage!” Orchid would cry out as he whipped out his hand. His kimono flagging through the air as if given cue, “Use Quick-Attack!”
The Rabbit would respond in kind. It could have said a lot of things about the violet haired boy or outright refused, but it recalled their tussle well against the Eevee he had. The Pokemon went on the faith it placed on those skills, quickly flying forth towards the Togepi as it parted the mist around it. The Pokemon, shocked by the sudden acceleration, quickly tried to toss the stones that it conjured only to have them narrowly miss the rabbit Pokemon that zig-zagged through.
It had the priority, and the advantage in that instance.
“Follow-Up with Power-Up Punch!”
As soon as the rabbit Pokemon would tackle the Togepi full-body, it would quickly bound back on its feet. The rabbit would curl its little paw as it would press its feet through the dirt. With one lunge forth, the Pokemon would quickly toss forth its paw glowing with energy as it would strike the Togepi as it was mid-air. The Pokemon was sent sailing back through the mist lightly before touching down and rolling through the misty grass.
“It was not a critical hit, but…” Orchid almost felt sorry for the thing, until that is, it started to move. It almost seemed invigorated as it would leap back onto its small little feet. The Pokemon would brush at its shell in a confident manner before turning to face them both. Its eyes squinting and piercing like daggers as it faced them. “...w-what...is wrong with this thing?!” Before Orchid could even make his next move, the egg Pokemon would toss its hands up once more. The ground beneath Buneary would dislodged itself as one of the mist covered rocks would lift up beneath it flinging it into the air.
“Bun-chan!” It was an unfortunate fate.
The rabbit would descend quickly as it was falling as quickly as it would lift. The moment it crashed into the misty terrain, blowing away the fog, the Pokemon would wince as it opened its eyes narrowly. An eclipse was the first thought to come to the Pokemon’s mind surely, and would never expect what would come next, especially from the little Egg Pokemon.
“Bun-chan! You have to mo-!”
CRASH!!! It was too late for that part. The Egg Pokemon, just as quickly as it lifted the stone using its Ancient Power would drop it upon the Buneary making the damage two-fold. The rabbit Pokemon was smashed by the rock and driven deep into the ground as another would fall upon it. The Togepi was treating the stones generated from Ancient Power like it was creating a Rock Tomb as one stone would stack neatly upon the next with a careless slam with its hands still manipulating the rocks.
“Bun-chan!” It was an urgent situation! One that made the violet haired boy reach his hand to the sleeve of his Kimono. The rim was aligned with hanging pockets that his fingers juggled the Pokeballs from until he could feel any other he could summon forth. “Hold on! I can swit-”
As if the very word was rejected, the rocks trembled and quaked! A quick push would send the stones tumbling. From beneath, the dusty and worn body of the rabbit Pokemon stood once again. Its pink fur was a mess, yet, its eyes had already told of its mood. Its hand reaching for one of the stones, would pat it, and turn around to face the violet haired boy. Orchid watched as the rabbit Pokemon would let out a cry as if berating its trainer.
“She still must want to fight.”
Orchid did not know the rabbit well, but he knew that persistence when he seen it. He wish he had that look at times.
“R-right! Bun-chan! Wait for it to attack first and then…”
That did not take long. The moment as if Orchid had given it a cue, the wild Togepi was conjuring some of the stones once more, but something was different. The aura around its body was much greater than before. The movement of its little body a bit quicker. With one movement, the Pokemon swept the boulders overhead in a circle. It seemed to be powering up the more it manipulated the stones. “It has a reason to be fearsome.” Orchid’s lips pursed as he felt uneasy seeing the Pokemon, but the could not let that get to him.
“Buneary! Use Bounce...off the stones!”
The Rabbit Pokemon had been swift to react as it would dive forth. Its body would give one good bounce that would send it sailing towards one rock, then to the next, and then finally kicking off a stone that flew mid-air. Sailing beneath the branches it would be beyond reach. The rabbit Pokemon left nothing but a whistle as it went rocketing into the air above the Togepi. The egg Pokemon leaned its body back trying to see overhead where the creature disappeared.
It did not have to wait long.
CRASH!!! There was an explosive impact as a shadow descended with a swift drop upon the Egg Pokemon who was pressed into the misty terrain. It was so sudden that Orchid could have compared the tenacious nose dive as lightning quick. He made have had given a order, but it was the Buneary that carried out the tenacity. The rabbit Pokemon would quickly bounce back as it would take a stand weakly. Its eyes darted back to the trainer that was standing in place as it would cry out loud to its trainer.
“O-Oh?!” That same world famous line as he realized what the Pokemon was saying, “C-catch it?” The Togepi was stunned, but even then, Orchid could still see the Pokemon struggling to move. It was relentless! A fighter! Certainly Buneary could see it. With its expression, a serious, brooding look; it most likely wanted to fight the Pokemon again.
She was a sick one...but Orchid would comply. His hand reaching to his sleeve swapping the Pokeballs beneath his pocketing wrists. With one slip of one ball from its pockets, an empty one, he would fling his sleeves through the air casting forth one of the balls towards the direction of the Togepi who was stumbling and struggling to move under the effects of the paralysis and the mounting damage it received.
“Pokeball...Go!”

I Need More Affection Than You Know
“That...was tough.” Probably an understatement to begin with. The violet haired boy rolling his eyes as his lips would press tightly. His cheeks flushing a bit of red knowing just how silly that sounded in his head. It was only when he would look to the rabbit that was standing proudly by its toppled intended tomb of stones that it would blow a puff from its little nostrils. “R-right...you did good, Buns.” He undersold. In truth, she did great compared to what he was used to. He had never used a Pokemon like her, foreign to Kanto and its neighboring country.
It gave him a lot of things to consider as he walked towards the Pokeball that was becoming enveloped by the mist. His hand would clasp it, brushing it with his hands to clear off the collecting moisture that was building upon it. Only when he would turn back to the Bunny Pokemon, he would see its stumbled along with its hops. They were infrequent, a lack luster that reminded him of some kind of newly born rabbit. She was cute in a sense, and was completely different from her prideful demeanor she usually shown.
“Y-you are hurt,” the obvious statement was the best for that moment, “Rest in your Pokeball. I can leave the forest without a guide.” Orchid wasted no time whipping out the Pokeball and pointing it to the rabbit. The beam had shot from the middle of the sphere and struck the rabbit before it so much had gotten the chance to protest or give that defiant look it would always give. She was grumpy when Orchid would insist on doing things for himself, especially since she acted as if she was the only Pokemon capable of doing anything.
Truth be told, she had “some” truth to that.
Orchid knew not where he was exactly and it was difficult to know left to right in such a place. He would look to the tree, the place that was the battleground only moments ago and simply take it as a place to start with his trek.
“I suppose, when in doubt, just walk by faith.”
It was poor traveling advice made by “yours truly,” but what else could he do? The woods were strange and things did not grow normally as one would expect. Moss did not creep along the rocks or trees and the needles in the compass became haywire. It was either the presence of the Pokemon or the strange atmosphere. Though, something about the woods that people mentioned still bothered him. “They said that this forest is full of ‘Fairy’ Pokemon,” his head tilting as he looked to the sleeve where he stored the Pokeball containing the Togepi.
“Definitely not in Kanto anymore.”
He would blow a breath into the mist and followed along the path unbeknownst what was lurking within the mist.

I Need More Affection Than You Know
“Is that Bear...flexing?”
Yes...yes it was. Orchid had walked upon the scene, surely questioning if he had indeed been in a dream this time. These woods were surely cursed or the vapors that traveled along the terrain had some sort of magical spell that cast on the Pokemon here. The sight of the Teddiursa had confirmed just this as the violet haired boy would look on at the sight of the small bear with its claws reaching out. Its body shifting as it made one pose after the next with its little arms bending as if it was in a pose that suggested it was in mid-attack, another that was acting as if it was putting up fists if it could curl the little claws, and then finally one where it just-
“What...kind of pose is that?”
The way it would stroke its nail across its chest while showing a hazy-eyed look? It was almost flirty. Orchid would recall that this Pokemon, in Johto, was an adorable must-have for little girls. Even his young sister Rosetta would grab one from Goldenrod City and embrace it in cuddles! The streets were full of the Pokemon on certain days that would come from the mountains and take advantage of the tourists that would give them some sugary goods. But...Orchid did not see that right now. For the moment, he just saw a young Pokemon that was selling its looks that it probably found peeking through the open curtains of a house and seeing “something” on TV that Orchid wanted to know nothing of!
“I-I think I will...just...go around…”
It had not noticed him...or it just did not care. It gave Orchid the perfect chance to start averting the path of the Pokemon. It was when he moved his next foot, reaching beneath the fog as he attempted to go around the complete and cutter crazy seen-
CRACK!!! That could not have been good.
There was complete silence, no movement, no flexing; there was just silence. Orchid, who would take a deep breath that signified, “What the heck happened now?!” would move his foot back and lightly wafting the mist. After giving a moment for it to dissolve, he would notice them: pieces of shards that were in odd shapes. Most of them that were conclusively making something whole if common sense and placement of the fragments told him what it would make.
“A...mirror?” The boy lifted a brow before looking from the broken shards and then to the Teddiursa. The Pokemon’s expression in shock...then awe...then in rage as its eyes narrowed in utter fury.
“OH COME ON!” Orchid screamed with a toss of his hand dismissively, “Who does this in this kind of conditions? Seriously? It is too foggy for this kind of thing! Then coordinators would appreciate this but-”
“GRAAAAWWWWRRR!!!”
The bear’s loud growl told Orchid that the Teddiursa did not care for the argument. Not only that, but it also told him to readily reach for a Pokeball up his sleeve. A tired sigh coming from his mouth as he had done so and cast it out from his hand with a beat of his kimono that was like a wing. “Owl-san!” The violet haired boy would cry aloud as the burst of the Pokeball would send out a crashing beam of light. It soon formed the familiar frame of the grass Pokemon that he acquired, one that he was the least familiar with, but was eager to use.
“Owl-San! Come up with a Nasty Plot!”
Careful and considerate, Orchid was when it came to certain movements. He had found that the set of moves had worked well for the boy. As Orchid had given the command, the bear would quickly charge forth as it had its claws drawn. Each of them starting to quickly reach and thrust forth in a quick and precise manner. Its movements were somewhat definite and sudden. It was then, Orchid’s face soured seeing what the bear was doing mid draw and swing of its arms.
“I-Is...it flexing...while fighting?!” This thing was officially annoying Orchid!
“Use Leaf Blade to knock it away!” Orchid would cry loudly to cue the Owl Pokemon to quickly beat its wings, sharpening them as they would turn almost sharp as knives.. The Rowlet would dive forth knocking away the bear Pokemon from the velocity while also sending it flying with the mist and pieces of mirror shards that carried in the breeze. The Pokemon took a quick tumble and would...not surprisingly....leaped back up on its little feet and thrust its arms out and turned its head in the off direction.
‘It is not too mad to flex?!’ The violet haired boy pressing his lips together tightly. He was not a fan of getting “flexed on”....not that this has happened before.
The Bear Pokemon would quickly move, contrary to its bone-headed nature. The Pokemon would tenaciously dive forth with a squeal reminiscent to a battle cry as it dove head first into the fray. Its movements becoming sporadic as it let its arms drop, its claws lowered as it would leap from one place to the next, and then thrust forward. The sudden surprise attack made it so Rowlet’s wings were clipped lightly. The Pokemon dropping in altitude as it would leap about and try to fly into the air once more.
“A feint attack.”
Orchid noted as he would watch the Bear Pokemon, obviously, flexing its muscles again and letting out a growl. It would have been adorable in another light. But not now...never until this strange moment was over for the young trainer. “Use Leaf Blade again! Keep it away from you!” The Rowlet would regain its composure after flapping its wings. The lost feathers becoming sharp once more with plumage of its wings and blew the Bear back once again. The tumble this time would have been comical, but...this time…Teddiursa did not move.
“D-did we...overdo it?” His heart froze seeing the Bear Pokemon not moving. The woods were quiet. Rowlet would hoot lowly. As both trainer and Pokemon feared the worst-
“Zzz….Zzzzzzz!” Snoring! Loud snoring!
“It fell asleep?!” Orchid cried aloud. His foot stamping within the mist as the corner of his lip would twist. His eyes twitched until he took a breath and calmed down. “W-wait...not sleep. It is...resting? It used rest!” It was a horrifying realization, if not one that made Orchid become very weary. At this point, he would be trapped in an infinite loop of a bear going to sleep, recovering its wounds, and then waking up and putting on a “Gun Show,” which he was not a fan of. The Pokemon would be the death of him!
“I-I guess we will have to knock it out before it wakes up, but...it is pretty sturdy and will take forever!”
His body slumped and eyes would go to the mist in hopeless dread. It was not a life and death situation, but it was close enough! He doubt that the Pokemon would let him escape if it woke up and chased after him. He would have to deal with later! Before he could come up with a plan that would ensure his escape, his eyes would look to Rowlet. “A-any...ideas?” When in doubt, it did not hurt to ask, right?
As if on cue, the small Owl Pokemon would lift its wing as it would present the small tuft of feathers. It almost looked like it was raising its hand to suggest something. As it would do so, Rowlet would begin to seep with a vivid aura of green that would pour from its body and then rise upward as if it was catching aflame. “U-umm...Owl...san?” The Pokemon was not responsive at first, but next, its wings would spread wide. Its eyes would open as it glimpsed at Orchid’s kimono sleeve.
“Oh? A-are you thinking...another Pokemon?” The violet haired boy would reach for the only Pokemon that was not used so far. His hand clasping the Pokeball that contained the young fluffy Pokemon that started with Rowlet. Now that he recalled, there was supposedly a “special” relationship between the two. “Okay, Let’s go Grace-chan!”
As Orchid would toss out the Pokeball, it would not simply spring open to life like any other. It would remain afloat at first. Only afterwards did the ball suddenly pop open and a sphere of white light shot out of the ball heading towards Rowlet. The Owl Pokemon would turn completely into a green unshapen energy, streaking from its place and colliding with the incoming light that would crash with it and divert paths, curving from the point of impact and crashing into the area where Rowlet had stood. As for the Owl Pokemon, it zipped straight into the Pokeball within Orchid’s sleeve.
"What...was that?”
The violet haired boy would watch as the Eevee appeared on the field, none the wiser, to what had just happened. However, the violet haired boy had become aware of the situation in hand as the Teddiursa had snored loudly, becoming quieter as it become to stir. “Oh! T-that’s right! Eevee should be strong because of its ability!” he noted as he would point towards the bear Pokemon, “Eevee! Use Swift on Teddiursa!”
As expected, star-shaped energy would appear around the body of Eevee, gradually one by one as they spun on their points while circling the brown Pokemon. It was only after what became unexpected as the stars became brighter. Each one of them became larger and sparkling, bursting with a bright essence that blew away the mist from their forms. It was only after that each of the stars zipped with a laser-like streak across the aiming for the Teddiursa who was gradually opening its eyes to awaken. Pummeled, almost hammered, by the stars, the Teddiursa had become pinned by the array of stars that struck Teddiursa and sent it flying back towards the tree that was erect behind its form.
“Ah! I get it!” Orchid would cry aloud. The brief exchange between the Rowlet and Eevee making sense, “It is just not Grace-chan’s ability, but Owl-san’s strength as well. That must what Baton Pass must look like.” The violet haired boy had never seen the attack being used in a battle. He just heard of it once or twice and the type of effect it had. Before he could further contemplate, the Teddiursa was rising, standing on its stubby little feet. It’s arms once again stretching out as it brandished its claws as it became fully awake.
"Grace! Again!” Orchid would call, “Swift!” The stars would appear once again, circling. A certain hit kill would come as the stars would circle Eevee, almost guaranteeing the last strike. The brown Pokemon would toss its head back, allowing for the array of stars to zip forth carrying the same speed and strength from the previous. Each one pummeling the Teddiursa that tried to charge through. Tenacious and brave, it dove head first into the stars trying to endure.
Eventually, it would succumb…
With its body frozen, trembling, and pained; the Pokemon would stand tall as if resisting to fall. With one more move, one more distinct thrust of its arms and buff of its bulging shoulders, it would cry out as it flex before falling back into the ocean of mist that surrounded it. Unmovable, but groaning, the bear would let out a sigh of satisfaction of the battle as it had felt it shown off its beefy bod and indomitable spirit.
“...I need to leave this place.”
Orchid’s eyes staring blankly towards the circle of mist where the small Bear Pokemon was snoring once again. His feet sweeping past the Pokemon and its one broken mirror shards to laid about the woods. If he seen one more strange, weirdly aggressive Pokemon, it would be too soon.
...REAL soon.

I Need More Affection Than You Know
“Spores?”
Orchid would lift his hand to cover his mouth slowly, but then suddenly. He knew this better than anything else! “A Grass-Type Pokemon is nearby.” his eyes rolling across the field to get a view of the murky mist. “That is the only type of Pokemon that can do this.” As he stepped through the mist, he could see it sweeping away over something. Many mushrooms that were blooming a strange color. Each one almost seeming like a bright purple with tints of pink.
“There!” Orchid tossed out a Pokeball, exploding from it was the form of the Owl Pokemon that would take flight. With his eyes set upon the one mushroom on the field, Orchid would point towards the small blossom. “Now, use Ominous Wind, Owl-san!” With little wing beats, the small Rowlet would blow a breeze laced with a strange purple aura. That ominous gale would blow some of the mushrooms while one in general would blow a Pokemon skyward as it would land a short distance away from the field of mushrooms.
“What...is that?”
The Pokemon was one that was never seen before. It certainly looked similar to the strange mushrooms, but it was obviously a Pokemon. Had he been any other trainer who had little experience with Grass-Type Pokemon, they probably would have not noticed immediately. It was an attractive little thing, but then again, Orchid was not so much interest in catching Pokemon at the moment. These woods were horrible and he just wanted to leave!
The Mushroom Pokemon would suddenly radiate with a bright light. It was one that shone to the point that it cast a blinding beam that raced over the Rowlet and washed its form from view for a moment. “Confuse Ray?” Orchid was obviously caught off guard by the sudden move. It was not like him to see such a technique used by a Grass-Pokemon. Rowlet, as a result, had a crossed look in its eyes. One that seemed to make its eyes roll as the Pokemon had went to and fro as if it lost focus.
“Owl-San, return!” The beam from a lifted Pokeball shot out as quickly as Orchid’s voice came. Striking Rowlet, the light had collapsed it back into its Pokeball before Orchid would switch between the balls he had awaiting in his sleeves. The next one that came out would have to be one that he knew would be more tenacious. “Bun-chan!” The boy would cast out the Pokeball that burst open revealing the pink rabbit. “Be careful, it is-”
A flash of light would emit once more. No doubt, the Grass-Type Pokemon would was fond of using the status move. As the light would die down, the Buneary would stand there along with the Morelull. Buneary gazed on, slightly confused, but not due to the flash of light that came from the mushroom Pokemon. “Bun-chan?” The rabbit Pokemon had looked back to Orchid, slightly annoyed. Thrusting its paw out, it would gesture to the mist. To Orchid’s confusion, he was not sure why or what it was saying, but it seemed immune.
This did not stop the Morelull. The Pokemon had begun to unravel an array of vines from its body as it seen it could not confuse the bunny. “Bun-chan! Now! Use Quick-Attack to stop it!” Orchid had to admit, Buneary had the advantage with its speed. With it getting in a lowly four-point position, its cottontail riding up in the air, it would kick off quickly tackling the Morelull at swift speed. The vines of the Morelull stalled as it would attempt to finish making a grab at Buneary.
“Bounce!”
The Buneary had swiftly acted after landing on its feat. Its sudden jump was nimble and acrobatic, sending it sailing through the air as it would ascend quickly out of range of the Morelull’s vines that attempted to snatch it. Buneary would reach the pinnacle of its ascension, its little legs going overhead as it had flipped upward in the air beyond view. After pausing in the air, the Pokemon would descend quickly as its little feet came diving down in a spiral. The rabbit Pokemon would crash, stumping the Morelull into the terrain upon impact with explosive force.
“Super effective.” Orchid had summed up, watching as the misty that swirled about cleared revealing the Buneary standing next to the fallen grass-type. Spores were within the air from the impact along with the swirling mist.
“Bun-chan! The spores they-” He paused mid-cry.
The only thing that was as captivating as the glistening spores that came from the Grass-type Pokemon was the mysterious mist that swirled about them. Both of them having a reaction to one another. Orchid’s eyes, sweeping slowly, would watch in astonishment.
“The Mist...is protecting her?”
It was beyond him! The boy knew nothing about the strange essence or even where to begin to explain it. Slowly, he came to the crazy speculations people had about the woods and the myths they spoke about. Little child stories were staring to make sense.
“W-well…” His face flushing red from his ignorance. Realizing that the Buneary knew this before he did from how she gestured to the mist earlier, “We should get going.”
He would not admit it. Instead, he just made note of the strange property of the woods as he would exit with the bunny walking along his side.
