Name: Miyuki Kinoshita; also answers to "Yuki", though she only allows close friends and family to call her this Age: 16 Date of Birth: June 9 Birthplace: Kanto Region; Saffron City Gender: Female Sexual Orientation: Homosexual
Trainer Class: Battler
Face Claim: Gundam Build Fighters Try - Fumina Hoshino
Appearance: Due to her fairly average height, Miyuki doesn't particularly stand out in a crowd; at least not when she's dressed normally. She has a slim but well-toned body, due in large part to her martial arts training. It doesn't take much to figure out she does some kind of physical training on a regular basis. Scattered throughout her body are small scars, no doubt the result of a lot of falling down while training and/or sparring.
She's most commonly seen wearing tight-fitting clothes; usually a sports bra and some shorts, with a jacket whenever it starts getting cold outside. Much to her chagrin, her chest ended up being fairly large, able to fill a C-cup despite her still being in her teens. While she's not necessarily self conscious about them and is generally able to keep it from interfering with her training, she still occasionally wishes that they were a bit smaller.
She has shoulder-length light brown hair, which she always keeps tied up to keep it from getting in the way of her training. She did try cutting it short once, but she didn't like how it looked, so she prefers to keep it long.
Height: 5'6"
Personality: Miyuki is, first and foremost, a very hot-blooded and passionate girl with a love of all things related to martial arts and Pokemon Battles. Ever the tomboy, she doesn't have very many interests that one would consider feminine. She also tends to feel awkward when a situation calls for her to dress up in feminine attire, though she's not necessarily unwilling to do so. She just isn't confident that any sort of dress or gown would look good on her.
Though far from unintelligent, there are times when it takes her longer than others to grasp something, even when it would be something seemingly-obvious to most other people. Once she grasps whatever that something is, it doesn't take her long to catch up; it's sometimes just a matter her grasping it in the first place. Additionally, it's not uncommon for her eagerness for a challenge to overrule common sense, often resulting in her biting off more than she can chew.
Nevertheless, she is friendly and fairly easy to get along with. So long as one doesn't go out of their way to be an asshole, it's not difficult to get on her good side. And by doing so, anyone will find themselves with a fiercely loyal ally who would gladly do anything for those she feels fortunate enough to call her friend. Just don't piss her off. She doesn't hold grudges for very long, but she can be very petty and vindictive in that short amount of time, and it's not pretty for anyone involved, herself included.
History: Born and raised in Saffron City, Miyuki was destined to be a martial artist pretty much from day one. Her father was a proud member of the Saffron Fighting Dojo, and he often allowed Miyuki to tag along. Whether it a was full-contact sparring match or a Pokemon Battle between Fighting-types, she was instantly hooked, loving every second of it. Her mother, a simple housewife, wasn't fond of the idea, but ultimately chose to support her daughter's dream.
Needless to say, Miyuki couldn't wait until she was old enough to officially join the dojo, and visited it every chance she got. In turn, the members of the dojo took a shine to her and often took it upon themselves to teach the girl some basic moves; just because she wasn't an official member didn't mean she couldn't learn a thing or two from them, after all. She wouldn't be allowed to actually spar with anyone, of course, but no one was really in a hurry to fight a child.
So imagine the poor girl's shock when the master of the dojo announced with a heavy heart that he was disbanding the dojo and leaving for personal reasons. Her father was equally heartbroken, especially as all of the other members eventually went their seperate ways. Still, he wasn't going to let his daughter down. As such, although he knew and openly admitted that it wasn't going to be the same, he took it upon himself to personally train her himself. This was good enough for Miyuki.
So, over the next several years, Miyuki's father trained her, teaching her everything he knew while giving her time to develop and hone a fighting style of her own. Occasionally, one of her father's old friends from the dojo would visit, wanting to see how the two of them were doing, and they'd briefly join in on her training. For both Miyuki and her father, they were the best years of their life, but like many things in life, it eventually had to come to an end.
Miyuki's father had taught her everything he possibly could. If he were being honest, she was probably almost as skilled a fighter as he was, and definitely had way more potential to improve than him, who had already reached his peak. There was one more thing she needed to learn, but that was something he felt she needed to experience on her own, just as he and all of his friends from the Fighting Dojo did; becoming a Pokemon Trainer and learning how to battle with them.
He taught her the basics, especially when it came to Fighting-types since she would no doubt try to collect a bunch of them. Everything else, however, would be up to Miyuki to learn on her own. It was an admittedly intimidating prospect, yet Miyuki was quite looking forward to it all the same. At her father's suggestion, she decided to go to a region other than Kanto, figuring going to a new land would make the whole thing all the more exciting.
Before she left, her father had one last present for her; two Poke Balls, one containing a Tepig and the other containing a Shroomish. She wasn't impressed at first, disappointed that they were obviously not Fighting-types, but she warmed up to them a bit when he went on to explain that both of those Pokemon, if trained well, would go on to evolve into powerful Fighting-types who would serve her well. The three of them hit it off after that, and soon, Miyuki left home.
After arriving in Midori, Miyuki was quick to set off. She had no clue what she was doing or where to even start, but she was here, and she was ready to make a name for herself. A bit of asking around and wandering aimlessly lead her to officially registering as a Pokemon Trainer in Midori, and she now had a clear goal in mind; challenge the gym and make a name for herself in the Midori League.
Starter Pokemon: Tepig; aka King Bacon - Flamethrower | Rollout | Take Down | Curse Shroomish; aka Cap - Seed Bomb | Wake-Up Slap | Headbutt | Spore
Additional Info: • In case it wasn't obvious, this character is based primarily on the Battle Girl trainer class. She's an old OC from back in my "RPing on YIM" days. To give you an idea of how long ago that was, the Gen IV games were still very new at the time. Like, "the game was out in Japan and we didn't know what any of the English names were going to be yet" new.
• She initially suggested the name "King Bacon" to her Tepig as a joke, partly because she thought it was cute, and partly because she may or may not have been a little hungry at the time. However, he actually liked the name, so Miyuki ended up rolling with it despite how morbid it is
• Although she has an obvious preference for Fighting-types, she'll be more than happy to catch and train Pokemon of other types if they look like they'd be a fierce battler. Bonus points if if they're actually capable of learning some good Fighting moves.
• Was badly bitten by a Snubbul when she was little, and has had a mild fear of dog-like Pokemon ever since. She can handle being around them for the most part, but becomes very nervous if they actively approach her. Especilly if they're known for being able to learn any biting moves She intends to try overcoming this by catching and training as many of them as she can find.
